WE FOUND OUR ATHENA (family pet bullmastiff)! We are so relieved. We were walking the area this morning (9/22/2012) from around 7:00 am and at around 9:00 - 9:30, Frank received a call from Kimberly (Ken's Korner Grill), that she saw her on the railroad tracks at Atlanta Road and Windy Hill. Frank raced over there and YES it was her....she was so happy to see him!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU to Sydney, Karen and all the concerned Smyrna city neighbours for looking out for her and calling us whenever they spotted her. We were so happy to get that call from Kimberly. THANK YOU THANK YOU - SMYRNA ROCKS!!!!!! Frank, Karina, Athena and family.

Our family pet dog, Athena is still not home. This morning she was seen close to Love Street, This afternoon we received a call from Sydney, Smyrna-Vinings Patch editor who told us her husband saw her this afternoon running with another dog (boxer) in the Pinehill/Banks Street area and tonight we had a call that she was seen with the boxer again close to S. Cobb Drive. If you see her please call Animal control at 770.499.4136. She is a sweet dog and we are happy she now has a friend...but we miss her terribly.

I haven't been to my Smyrna home, since this happened, but, if she was seen on Love Street, it wouldn't be a bad idea to search the dead end area on foot. The backside of that apt complex is appealing to our dogs, and old foot trails thru the woods beyond that, led my pekingese to go missing for 3 days. Ancient, backyard fences are grown over with ivy, and the wooded lots back there have confounded more than a few lost animals, trapped behind a hidden fence, on a thickly wooded lot. In the 12 yrs I've lived there, we've had dogs, coyotes, a fox, a bob cat, and...(wait for it...) a (huge) big horn sheep, all wander onto our lot, and be vexed by the barriers on 3 sides. I hope you can get over there, and, check the area out. Don't be surprised to find them there. Good luck, and God bless***

Athena is one smart cookie to have done so well on her own. I hope she is well and the family can get a good nights sleep. Best wishes to you all! Big hugs to Athena!

I am so happy she was found. I wish the boxer had been so fortunate. It warms my heart to know how much people care and searched for this sweet dog. Best wishes for a continued good life

I am so happy that Athena has been found - safe and reunited with her family . It's just wonderful when people pull together to help . If Athena wasn't spoiled before, I'd bet my last dollar that she will be now! She deserves it, especially after what she has been through. Great, great news!!!!!!!!!!! Karen
