RE/MAX of Georgia Raises $10,000 for Habitat for Humanity

RE/MAX OF GEORGIA RAISES $10,000 FOR

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF GEORGIA

Inaugural Golf Tournament Kicks Off Campaign

Atlanta, Ga. (Sept. 19, 2012)― RE/MAX® of Georgia kicked off its new partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Georgia with an inaugural fundraising golf tournament. The company-sponsored round of golf was held at Eagles Landing Country Club, and participants included RE/MAX of Georgia agents, business partners, and local residents supporting the cause.

In all,$10,000 was raised to benefit Habitat for Humanity. Funds contributed will go towards the overall goal of more than $80,000 that RE/MAX-affiliated companies and sales associates have pledged to help serve families across the state. The donations will create and preserve home ownership – that means not only going toward building new homes, but also to assist families to stay in their current homes by making necessary repairs, adding accessibility for handicapped persons, and doing additional maintenance where necessary.

“While RE/MAX of Georgia agents are working hard to help customers find homes, they remain focused on helping others realize the American Dream of home ownership, too,” said Dane Ellison, Chief Executive Officer for RE/MAX of Georgia. “We sincerely thank everyone who participated in the golf tournament and contributed to this effort.”

Nationwide, RE/MAX is committed to giving back to the communities in which it serves. In 1992 the organization became the first official real estate sponsor of the Children’s Miracle Network. To date, the group has contributed more than $56 million to the cause that raises funds and awareness for 174 children’s hospitals in North America that treat more than 17 million children who are afflicted with diseases, injuries and birth defects.

RE/MAX is the exclusive real estate sponsor of the Komen Race for the Cure® Breast Cancer Survivor Recognition Program. RE/MAX honors survivors by providing the signature pink t-shirts and caps for race participants to wear. Other race participants receive “In Memory of” or “In Celebration of” back signs to honor friends and loved ones. RE/MAX teams also participate in and volunteer at community Komen Race events.
