Brown Elementary School is holding its annual picnic at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at Tolleson Park. Parents, teachers and students are invited to attend.

King Springs Elementary School will hold its PTA board meeting Thursday, Aug. 26 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Russell Elementary School's PTA is hosting a parent social with games and activities in the Russell Cafe, Thursday, Aug. 25 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. While the parents are getting to know each other, students can enjoy an interactive science program with a "mad scientist" in the gym.

Teasley Elementary School will hold open house this week. Kindergarten, 2nd and 4th grade parents can meet their students’ teachers Tuesday, Aug. 23, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Parents of 1st, 3rd and 5th grade students can meet their teachers Thursday, Aug. 25, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Griffin Middle School will also hold its P.T.S.A. open house this week. Open house for 6th graders and their parents is Monday, Aug. 22. Seventh and 8th grade students’ open house is Tuesday, Aug. 23. Spanish-speaking parents and their children from all grades are invited to open house Wednesday, Aug. 24. All sessions begin at 7 p.m.

St. Benedict’s Day School parents are invited to the Parish Hall to enjoy a cup of coffee and learn about the coming school year. Preschool Parent Coffee is Monday, Aug. 22, or Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 9 a.m. Kindergarten Parent Coffee is Thursday, Aug. 25 at 8:30 a.m. First Grade Parent Coffee is Friday, Aug. 26 at 8:30 a.m. Second Grade Parent Coffee is Monday, Aug. 29 at 8:30 a.m.
