'Breaking Dawn' All Bark and a Little Bite
The latest Twilight film features the most anticipated wedding in years (minus, of course, the one with Will and Kate -- and that Kardashian mess).
It has been three years since the first movie and the wait is finally over for fans of "The Twilight Saga." Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) tie the knot at last in the highly anticipated "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1."
The film is the fourth in a supernatural soap opera franchise that has already raked in nearly $2 billion worldwide. If you are one of the only people on the planet who do not know about this series, here is all you need to know: Vampire Edward Cullen and human Bella Swan (who happens to be a virgin) are getting married and their werewolf friend Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) is not very happy about it.
There are really no spoilers here. Your teenage daughter can tell you exactly what happens. Edward and Bella get married, two weeks later she gets pregnant, then -- after almost dying -- Bella gives birth. Parents, don't worry, there is nothing to see in the honeymoon sequence. The birth scene, however, is pushing the PG-13 rating to the edge. That being said, teenage girls all over the country should squeal with delight.
Now it may come as a shock, but I am not a big "Twilight" fan. However, the kids love this stuff. For the "Twilight" faithful or "Twi-hards," this is all cinema magic.
The flick-o-meter gives "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1" a three out of five. The dialogue is laughable and the movie is a two-hour saga that could have been a 30-minute flick. So with Edward and Bella married and suddenly parents of a rather unique baby, what's next? You'll have to wait to find out in part two of this series due to hit theaters a year from now. Are you team Edward or team Jacob ? Let me know on Facebook.

After the Movie:
Whether you thought the movie was a turkey or Oscar worthy, head over to Varners Restaurant & Tavern on Saturday for the 1st Annual Turkey Bowl. Varners, located at 725 Concord Road in Smyrna, will be having what they call, “good old fashion fall fun’’ by having a frozen turkey bowling contest on its patio.
Of course, there will be plenty of turkey to eat to with giant smoked turkey legs going for five bucks. Varners will also have a special keg (or firkin) of Smoke On The Water by Heavy Seas Brewing that it will be serving for Saturday night only. This rich dark porter fantastically pairs with a smoked turkey leg!
And with UFC 139 airing from 9 p.m. to midnight, it should be a Saturday full of fun at Varners. See here for more information. - Hunt Archbold
