Here's a rundown of upcoming seminars and classes in Smyrna-Vinings

Saturday, Feb. 18 to introduce its program of low-cost, year-round seminars and workshops for consumers, businesses, entrepreneurs and investors.  EcoAction’s “environmental school for adults” offers half-day and full-day educational sessions about water conservation, money-saving energy efficiencies and environmental makeovers for residential and commercial properties.

“The school evolved from a gap in the U.S. educational system,” said John Thompson, EcoAction’s founder. “For 50 years, society has attempted unsuccessfully to solve the environmental problem without first educating that one key segment of the populace that can make it happen. That one segment is consumers. Get them knowledgeable enough to ‘make markets’ for better alternatives to polluting technologies, products, services, processes and practices and business will have no recourse but to give the market what it demands. Teach business how to recognize the profit potential in legitimate environmental solutions and the free-enterprise system will work its magic. Advance goods and services that translate directly to pollution reduction and resource conservation on a major scale and the spiral of environmental degradation can be broken.”
