December has arrived and with the holidays now in full swing, it’s a most appropriate time to remember that it is more blessed to give than to receive.
Recently, Life Church Smyrna Assembly of God partnered with the motorcycle club, Ghost Ryderz Atlanta, to take 150 bags of groceries to those in need. The Ghostryderz Atlanta rode in their 1st Annual Turkey Run with the entry fee being a frozen turkey to add to the 150 bags of groceries that members of Life Church provided.
The event was a great success as they were able to go to three apartment complexes in Smyrna to deliver the bags. This was the 7th Annual Blessing Bag Outreach organized by Life Church Smyrna Assembly of God.
Vinings Church will be teaching generosity in a unique way at this Sunday’s service and giving away some special gifts. Can’t spoil the secret here, but everyone at the sermon will be given an envelope. Vinings Church meets Sundays at 11:15 a.m. at the Cobb Gallery Wavery Hotel.
Through the end of the month, O’Storage, with three locations including one at 2350 Atlanta Road in Smyrna, has partnered with the Salvation Army to help feed the hungry this holiday season.
The family-owned business will donate a turkey to the Salvation Army for every new rental at each of their three locations – and every storage unit is just $1 to move in. Their goal is to donate fifty or more turkeys to local families in need this holiday season.
Customers donating four non-perishable food items will receive an On Demand movie coupon, (cable channel 1 with a Charter digital set top receiver). Customers donating eight or more non-perishable food items will receive two On Demand movie coupons.
Charter’s Movies for Food program is currently underway and accepting donations through the end of the month. For more information is available here.
