Hopscotch Around the World in Vinings

Vinings International Wine Stroll delivers fine wine and good times while helping raise money for Small Dog Rescue and the Humane Society.

Meandering around a charming village with friends and sipping vino sounds like a fine way to spend a sunny springtime afternoon to us. The 6th Vinings International Wine Crawl will hit some hot spots in the heart of Vinings on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Step right up to registration, which begins from host station in Vinings Jubilee anytime during the afternoon. Armbands will entitle participants to specially discounted beverages and food at six local watering holes.

At Garrison’s, you can get rhapsodic in a Bohemian way by availing yourself of their house fave, Bohemian Highway. Not a wine fan, but still think the afternoon sounds fun? Not to worry; Garrison’s will be offering Samuel Adams (and several other beers) for the bargain price of $3.

A mainstay of Vinings nightlife, the will beckon wine strollers to its upstairs veranda with the country rock sounds of musician Kurt Thomas, who kicks off his set at 3 p.m. Additionally, the Attic Bar will remain a nonsmoking establishment until 8 p.m.

will prepare complimentary appetizers for participants as well as give a 10 percent discount if you stay for dinner. Exotic Argentian wines and Latin-inspired tapas will be featured at Noche, while will concentrate on South African wines, crispy calamari and delectable sweet potato fries. $12 wine flights, Grey Goose Martinis, and outrageously delicious chipotle shrimp flatbread are the draw at .

This wine crawl is a terrific way to sample around-the-world variety of wines and foods on picturesque local patios. Fantastic specials and small plates abound at all participating establishments and several will also play host to live music. Strollers may purchase tickets in advance at www.atlantabartours.com for $6 or pay $12 at the door. Produced by Atlanta Bar Tours, this wine stroll also features raffles and giveaways for great prizes. A portion of the proceeds reaped by the International Wine Crawl benefits Small Dog Rescue and the Humane Society.
