Smyrna has a great curbside recycling program. I also love the recycling center! I take my bottles there to be recycled. I wish they accepted #5 and 6 plastics as well as styrofoam. I try to reuse the #5 and 6 containers as much as possible and take the styrofoam egg cartons and trays to Publix. I also wish Smyrna would consider purchasing a replacement truck so they could reinstate the curbside leaf collection/vacuuming program that they used to have when I first moved here 7 years ago. I spend so much extra money on yard bags, and time, bagging leaves each year, now that we no longer have this program. For a single homeowner, the job of bagging all the leaves is overwhelming!

Smyrna is far from green. It doesn't even have a curbside single stream recycling program like most other metro cities and counties. It has an ineffective tree protection ordinance, no bike lanes, and no concern for the ecosystem.
