How to Register Students for School in Smyrna-Vinings

It still feels like summer, but the Cobb County School District is gearing up for the new school year. Registration for Smyrna-Vinings elementary and middle school students is Wednesday, July 25. Registration for Campbell High School students begins Tuesday, July 31 and runs through Friday, Aug. 3.
Who Needs to Register?
Students who weren’t enrolled in a Cobb County school last year need to register at their new school. Most students who were enrolled last year have been pre-registered. Griffin Middle School offers a list on their website that shows the students who are registered for the 2012-2013 school year.
What Time Can I Register?
According to the Cobb County School District website, elementary schools will register students from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Griffin Middle School will register students from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Campbell Middle School will register students from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. New Campbell High School students can register between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and again from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
What Do I Need to Bring?
To register in a Cobb County school, students or their parents must provide:
- A certificate of immunization
- Hearing, dental and vision screenings
- Proof of birth date
- Two proofs of local address
- Social Security Number
After kindergarten, students enrolling in a Cobb County school for the first time are also asked to bring past report cards or academic test scores.
When Does School Start?
Cobb County schools are back in session Monday, Aug. 13.
