Santa parties it up in Smyrna-Vinings
Padriac's and Atkins Park are holding Christmas in July celebrations in the coming days.
It looks like Santa needed a vacation and he’s parking his sleigh at a pair of local pubs for Christmas in July celebrations.
Padriac’s Restaurant is hosting its Christmas in July festivities Friday starting at 8 p.m. with a $50 Pads cash giveaway. Santa will be handing out Pad’s cash every hour until midnight when he’ll give away Braves tickets. There will also be a costume contest for the best dressed summer-themed Santa and Santa’s helper. The best dressed from each category wins $150.
Drink specials for Christmas in July at Padriac's include $2 Bacardi Jello shots. Red Stripe, Dos Equis XX Drafts, Jager shots and Coors Light will be $3. Order a Coors Light draft and get a free Braves glass.
Santa’s been partying at Atkins Park since the tavern opened in Smyrna eight years ago. This Monday, July 25, will be no exception.
“Santa’s coming in his Hawaiian shirt while he’s vacationing here in the summer,” said Kevin Drawe, owner of Atkins Park Tavern. “He comes out and gives all the adult boys and girls some gifts.”
In addition to Santa’s gifts, Santa’s Jager elves will be passing out Christmas cookies all night. Bartenders will also be serving special Jager snowcones and peppermint mojitos. DJ Seven will provide music from 9 p.m. onward.
