Smyrna Mother Charged with Murder of Severely Malnourished Girl
Other children also found in the home were subsequently released into the custody of Department of Family and Children Services.
Cobb Police arrested and charged a Smyrna mother with murder and first-degree cruelty with children on Friday after finding a dead severely malnourished girl at her home.
At 1:30 p.m., Precinct 2 officers responded to a 911 call about an unresponsive girl at a home on Concord Road. When the officers arrived on the scene, they found the body of a dead girl, whose age has not yet been released.
Other children found at the home were in "good condition" and released to the custody of the Department of Family and Children Services, according to Cobb Police, who have not yet released the number of other children at the home.
Ebony Berry, 38, is currently being held without bond at the Cobb County Jail.
Police are asking anyone with information about the case to please call (770) 499-3945.

Hey Duncan, that was an error on my part. I was posting this at 4 a.m. right when I woke up. It's been corrected now. The police also told me that they are not releasing the ages of the children, but the girl who died was in her teens.

I hope they charge her with "torture." To deny nourishment to any living thing is to torture them. Absolutely disgusting.

What is wrong with people anymore?
No one can say that this like this "Don't happen in Smyrna."
Every time we turn around, some new atrocity has found its way to our little city.
Horrible.

If you notice, this was handled by Cobb County Police, which means this occurred in unincorported Smyrna and doen't count towards Smyrna's crime.

To P.Ft this crime did occur in Smyrna. Smyrna is this city in which the crime occurred and the county Smyrna is in is Cobb County. City police do not handle these types of crime. Just because Cobb took her does not mean the Smyrna police weren't on the seen as well.
Thanks
