Smyrna-Vinings Patch Gives Five to Atlanta Pet Rescue

Readers chose to send Smyrna-Vinings Patch Editor Sydney Busby to Atlanta Pet Rescue on Patch's Give Five Day.

Thursday is Patch’s second Give Five Day of the year when employees trade their laptops for work gloves and get out to the help the community. This time around we asked Smyrna-Vinings Patch readers to pick the nonprofit we’d serve for the day. It was a close race between five very deserving agencies, but the winner by a nose was Atlanta Pet Rescue.

APR has served metro Atlanta for the past 12 years, but is a new addition to Smyrna-Vinings. The nonprofit just made the move from 14th Street in Atlanta to its new home on Atlanta Road next door to K-9 Coach Bed and Bark.

Smyrna-Vinings Patch Editor Sydney Busby will spend the day helping APR get settled into its new home. Follow Smyrna-Vinings Patch on Twitter at @SmyrnaPatch and like our Facebook page for updates and photos throughout Give Five Day.

Thanks Smyrna-Vinings Patch readers for voting to send me to Atlanta Pet Rescue. I had a great time volunteering and hard as it was, I didn't adopt all the dogs. I'd call it a success. :)
