I would like both candidates to explain why we regulate milk and sugar prices, but not gasoline? Why not have a national standard and two grades of gasoline and eliminate zone pricing?

The economy could be revitalized, unemployment eased, and the National Deficit decreased, perhaps eventually eliminated by doing one simple thing: pass an emergency edict making banks drop all existing mortgage rates for loans in good standing by 1-3%. The majority of Americans did not participate in the lunacy of speculative real estate buying and failure in fiduciary responsibility that mortgage lenders/banks displayed that eventually led to our economic crash. So why has the government only rewarded those who were irresponsible? Reward those who are responsible, those who would use the money from decreased mortgage payments to revitalize our consumer driven economy and allow for many business owners to consider taking on new employees since they will have more revenue and cash reserves to do so with. Consequently too, increased sales tax collection would revitalize states; income taxes would increase in a natural fashion thereby also helping the Fed and States. And although I cannot recall his name, there was a British economist, well-renowned, who indicated this same thought and his views were published in a Money Magazine article. The American Scholar (Phi Beta Kappa magazine) published a fascinating derivation on how our financial crisis developed "Too Big to Fail and Too Risky to Exist" by William J. Quirk. Someone in a position of being able to ask the presidential candidates their thoughts on what the article indicates would be of great interest to listeners.

Want to solve the medical care cost problems in this country? The problems will not be solved by decreasing payments to doctors or hospitals nor by creating quality-of-care or cost-containment rewards or incentives (Obama). They will not be solved by depriving sections of the population access to affordable health care (Romney). Accessible health care for all and decreased cost of medical care can be resolved by two steps: one, limit or eliminate any potential litigation against physicians or hospitals for potential malpractice; it is the fear of being sued by a patient or one of their relatives that drives the machinery of ordering too many tests, procedures, hospitalizations to insure that one’s derriere is covered...that is what actually drives medical care cost up; “Big Lawyer” looms always over the shoulder and medicine has to protect itself from them. And step two: medical insurance companies should be non-profit organizations like colleges/universities. We do not buy stock in a college/university. All monies raised for a college/university go to bettering (hopefully) the overall function of that institution. Medical coverage can not, and should never have been allowed to become, a business in which shareholder interests are weighed against how much money is spent on patient care or how much payment a physician or hospital should receive. All monies raised by premiums should go to management of the non-profit and payment of medical costs. Period, end of story.

Addendum to medical care issue: Quality of care can be assured by making all types of medical practitioners and hospitals meet exacting licensing or re-licensing qualifications. Quality-of-care is never assured by fear of litigation; only higher medical costs are assured by this. I am a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and to just be able to sit for my next re-certification exam I have five VERY demanding prequalifying educational/evaluational programs to complete. And then the test itself! I certainly think after completing all of this, I can assure the public that I should be able to practice good quality-of-care medicine.

President Obama told Jorge Ramos and Maria Elena Salinas of Univision, he was unable to fulfill his promise on emigration because of gridlock. In the first 2 years of his administration he had a super majority. The Republicans had no way of stopping anything he wanted to accomplish. To blame not fulfilling the promise on "gridlock" is misleading. "President Obama, what is the real reason you failed to keep your promise on emigration reform?"

In 2009 the IRS created an amnesty program for people who broke federal tax law by placing funds in certain UBS Swiss bank accounts.
Do you support such amnesty programs for those for break the law, and are granted amnesty only if they are caught?

If exemptions and deductions, such as home mortgage interest, are eliminated is it true that reducing the tax rate will not necessarily lower the tax bill for most Americans?

If a voucher program is introduced into the Medicare system for those currently under 55, is there an absolute guarantee in the law that such a voucher system could be implemented for those over 55, including current seniors who are receiving Medicare benefits?

2 of the proposals in Simpson Bowles provide for elimination or reduction the home mortgage interest deduction. Will this not have a negative impact on home values as fewer middles class citizens will not qualify for mortgages without such a deduction; and if so will it provoke another home mortgage crisis by putting more homes under water?

Mir. Romney, do you plan to have any "czars" in your administration? If yes, why; and if no, why not?
Mr. Obama, how much does the Federal government spend each year for "czars"? If re-elected, do you plan to eliminate, reduce or increase this spending? And please explain your answer.

You do understand that the term "czar" in the American government is technically meaningless as it is a term the press invented rather than saying someone is Assistant to the Assistant Undersecretary specializing in the care and feeding of Over Secretaries... So the obvious answers to both your questions are, yes, Romney will have czars, and to be sure it is highly unlikely that Obama knows the specific payroll of his administration by job title, which is probably a series of rates set by the GSA. For Pres Obama: How to you explain going around the Constitution and the laws of our country by you and your administration? For example by law you are to give 90 notice for layoffs, but your staff sent the letters saying its ok. Why do you think it's ok to break the law? And saying it's been done before doesn't make it right. Why do you think its ok to use the race card? I don't care if our president is purple, I expect him to be upright, honest and straight forward. You have not.

I want to know if pre-tax income will be changed i.e., flexible spending accounts, retirement 403B's and healthcare benefits. Will either or one change this with their,
"I will not raise taxes" stance?
If so many middle class Americans will be severly effected by this change. Presently I take out 28k yearly with these benefits. If they are taken away it will effect our family severely. One child in private school (for her dyslexia, because public schools can't educate her) and one child heading off to college.

Foreign Aid - With United States in its current financial state and committing to approximately $50 Billion in foreign aid at the same time borrowing money from other countries, would you consider reducing the amount of assistance? If yes, would it be a percentage cut across the board or what are some of the countries be at the top the your list to reduce and why? Or if No, why?
Thank you, Ronald Pierantozzi, Pompton Plains, N.J.

I have two stepsons with combat experience. One of them is still active duty. The United States has 11 active Aircraft Carriers and a 12th under construction. We have a proposed fleet of F-35 Fighter Jets that don't work properly that is expected to run into the hundreds of billions of dollars at a time when our air strategies seem to have switched to unmanned aircraft. We don't k now how many nuclear submarines with missile launch capabilities there are currently and I know we aren't supposed to know that exactly , and there is a list of other very expensive programs that will probably never see a real world use or are military overkill. My questions are, are these programs just another form of welfare for people to build weapon systems that never get used just keep the Defense industry happy? If we need to cut the budget and we have so many expensive yet fruitless projects, how can anyone propose adding to the Defense Department's budget?

The challenge of getting anything done in Washington seems overwhelming considering the apparent unwillingness of the two parties to lay aside their differences and do the job they were elected to do without regard to their own re-election or their parties polarized beliefs. What concrete steps would each of you take to repair our failing system and bring integrity to our nation?

Mr. President, at what point in time do the problems of economy become your fault and not that of your predecessors? Why are you giving so many passes to the unions with regard to Obamacare? Why did you use an executive order to protect your administration and AG Holder if their is nothing to hide? Overall, where is all the transparency you promised?

Mr. Romney stated he will resolve the long standing issues between Israel and Palestine. Since the establishment of these states, every President has said they will be the one to resolve this issue. What are you going to do different than your predecessors?

On July 26th of this year my same-sex partner of 10 years and I finalized the adoption of three siblings who were separated out of the Washington DC foster care system. The same day we were married. My question is simple. Do you consider us a family? If so what will you do as president to ensure we are protected and have equal rights as all committed families? The Government Accountability Office cites 1,138 rights, benefits, and protections offered to families with heterosexual parents that we do not receive.

President Obama,
I do not believe the average American is aware of the amount of Executive Orders you have endorsed since becoming President.
Please explain to the American People why you have issued 923 Executive Orders since becoming President, when all Presidents combined since President Teddy Roosevelt have issued a total of 121 Executive Orders.
You owe the American People an explanation, because many of your orders infringe on the Freedom of "We the People".

PBS recently came out with a great documentary called Half the Sky based on Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn's book, bringing many horrible injustices against women around the world into the public eye. If elected next term, how would your administration contribute to efforts to tackle issues such as human trafficking, female genital mutilation, rape and inequalities in education?

True Christian values are the values taught by Jesus Christ. Jesus taught that the rich should pay taxes and provide for the poor. (Mark 12 and Luke 18) Do you agree with the values of Jesus, and would you raise taxes on the Super Rich to finance job creating government spending to end unemployment in America?
