TeaFuse and Boca Mexican Grill Close

TeaFuse will still sell tea on its website and the owners of Boca Mexican Grill plan to reopen with a new concept in August.

Two Smyrna-Vinings businesses have closed for now, but plan to come back with new concepts.

TeaFuse Tea House in Vinings Jubilee closed at the end of May, but owner Kendall Harper said she’s still plans to sell tea at her website Teafuse.com.

“By the end of the week it should be converted where you can order tea and pay directly,” she said. “Right now the way the site reads you have to call us and we would just mail it out and take payment over the phone.”

Harper said she’s partnered with World Peace Café in Sandy Springs where she will still hold tea parties for bridal and baby showers.

Boca Mexican Grill is also calling it quits for now, but plans to reopen in August. The restaurant on Spring Road in Smyrna opened at the beginning of April and was named a hot new restaurant by Yelp Atlanta, a business review website.

Owner Jasmin Reyes Scott posted on Boca’s Facebook page that the restaurant would close Sunday, June 24.

“Restructuring our concept. We thank Smyrna for all their support, and hope to bring you an even better more exciting restaurant in August,” she said in a Facebook post.

Scott could not be reached for further comment at this posting.

That is an extremely difficult location to operate a restaurant, it is blocked from Spring road by a building.

The only thing you could do would be to utilize the kitchen space and make a catering outfit out of it.

I ate at Boca one time - it was very good and fresh. Hate to see another Smyrna restaurant close, but the location was a tough one, as mentioned. Great they plan to re-organize and come back in August.

We really like this place. It is in an odd place, but the food and service is great. It's the only true Latin cuisine in Smyrna. I hope they don't change too much!

With much lament, we closed. It didn't make sense to finance payroll out of our own pockets, or take any loans. $1 tacos were a hit, but you have to sell a LOT of them to keep the doors open. Unfortunately, we strived for authenticity in an area full of corporate chains. It's a tough battle for the sole propietor. I cringe when I see a line of cars going through Taco Bell, or the DairyQueen next door. We will try again, but you may be right about that location. I will address concerns with the landlord as we received great comments on Facebook, as well. Remember to BUY LOCAL, EAT LOCAL, LIVE LOCAL! We appreciate the support!
