Approximately 45 Smyrna residents volunteered their time and energy Sunday afternoon to spread several hundred bales of hay and remove weeds at Teasley Elementary School.
They expected rain and thunderstorms, but instead they had fun, made new friends and got a lot done.
Officially, the project was sponsored by a new organization, SuperSmyrna, but the reality was that turnout was from a wide variety of groups. Those groups included Teasley Elementary School, Keep Smyrna Beautiful, Campbell High School, the Smyrna Golden K Kiwanis Club, Smyrna Business Association, Cobb Chamber of Commerce and the Smyrna Rotary Club.
The ages of those attending ranged from 3 to 70, and those who came were rewarded with Teasley Principal Joanne Roblee’s delicious brownies and other goodies.
This is the third year in a row that Smyrna citizens have done this project at Teasley. SuperSmyrna has several other similar projects lined up for April, May and June. To learn more, please see www.SuperSmyrna.com.
