The week's events include candidate forums and political rallies as Smyrna-Vinings get closer to the July 31 primary.
Smyrna-Vinings’ County Commissioner Bob Ott hosts a Transportation Referendum Town Hall at 7 p.m. at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, 4385 Lower Roswell Road, Marietta.
Various elected and community officials have been invited to discuss the referendum including Chuck Clay, partner with the Brock Clay Law Firm in Marietta, and Capt. Herb Emory of WSB Radio, transportation activist Ron Sifen and State Rep. Ed Setzler.
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and a host of Cobb politicians including Cobb County Chairman Tim Lee, Smyrna Mayor Max Bacon and former Gov. Roy Barnes discuss the July 31 Regional Transportation Referendum at Get Out the Vote Rally at the Smyrna Community Center. The rally begins at 12:30 p.m.
Cobb County Board of Commissioners meets at 7 p.m. at the Commissioners Meeting Room at 100 Cherokee Street.
The Cobb County Republican Party hosts a Judicial Candidates Forum at 6:30 p.m. at party headquarters, 799 Roswell Street Marietta. MDJ Columnist Dick Yarbrough will serve as panelist and Cobb County Republican Party Chairman Joe Dendy will act as moderator. Attendees can submit questions to the candidates on notecards.

AJC Reporter Janel Davis and WSB TV Reporter Ross Cavitt will serve as panelists and Cobb County Republican Chairman Joe Dendy will act as moderator.
