Smyrna City Council meets Monday. The agenda is a light one with Council’s only actions being to adopt the 2012 millage rate and pass an amendment to the city’s code of ordinances for alcoholic beverages. Tuesday the Vinings Business Association meets for its monthly luncheon at Social Vinings. Joe Turner is this month’s speaker. The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. and costs $15 for members and $20 for non-members. Pay in advance online or with cash or check at the door. 

Cobb County School Board meets Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 8:30 a.m. You can watch the meeting live online. 

Cobb Marietta Retired Educators Association meets Thursday at 11 a.m. at the C. Freeman Poole Senior Center.
