The Vinings Historic Preservation Society (VHPS) will officially launch the Keeping Pace Campaign on Nov. 10. It is being launched in conjunction with several restoration projects to enhance and update the historic properties in Vinings.
Donations from local residents have been put to work, contributing to the recently completed Yarborough House repair project, as well as The Pace House and The Pavilion that are still in need of significant repair.
The Yarborough House project was able to refurbish the exterior of the historic building by removing lead-based paint, repairing the chimney and the fence, improving signage and curb appeal, and replacing the roof.
The Keeping Pace Campaign has a goal of raising $250,000 in 2013 to help support the efforts of preserving invaluable properties in Vinings so that they maintain their historic value and remain included in the national registry of historic sites. the Pace House and the Pavilion project that is still in need of significant repair.
The campaign will officially be launched Nov. 10 with a Keeping Pace All Aboard Gala at 7 p.m. Attendees at the Gala will be named as "Founding Patrons" of the campaign.
