Visions for Vacancies: Borders at Parkway Pointe

What business would you like to see in the space formerly occupied by Borders?

Visions for Vacancies is Smyrna-Vinings Patch's weekly feature that looks at a vacant building and asks readers what they'd like to see there. This is your chance to dream big. If it were up to you, what would you open there?

This week we’re asking readers what business they’d like to see in the space formerly home to Borders in Parkway Pointe shopping center. The bookstore closed its doors in April 2011 after the company announced that it had filed for bankruptcy and would close one-third of its stores.

The large space sits in the Parkway Pointe shopping center at the corner of Cobb Parkway and Cumberland Boulevard in the Cumberland CID. Other retailers in the shopping center include Old Navy, Pier One Imports and AMC Parkway Pointe 15.

What business would you like to see open in the space vacated by Borders? Tell us in the comments.

One Smyrna-Vinings Patch Facebook fan wants - you guessed it - a Trader Joe's.

More love for Trader Joe's:
"We need a Trader Joes! Agreed!~"
"Joann's or another craft store."
"LOVE the Trader Joe's suggestion!"
