Visions for Vacancies: Champ's Barbecue

What would like to see in the Champ's Barbecue location?

Visions for Vacancies is Smyrna-Vinings Patch's new weekly feature that looks at a vacant building and asks readers what they'd like to see there. This is your chance to dream big. If it was up to you, what would you open there?

What do you envision for the old Champs Barbecue location? The 3,900-square-foot structure located at 2300 South Cobb Drive comes with a new roof and an equipped kitchen. In 2008 the Goergia Department of Transportation estimated that about 26,000 cars passed the building daily. The building is being brokered by The Shopping Center Group and rent is negotiable. Contact John Sebring at 678-718-2818 for more information.

What business do you think would be right at home in the former Champs location? Tell us in the comments.

Knock it down and plant trees. There are too many vacant structures around. The place is dated and an eyesore.

I really do miss the gyros from Fat Boy that was previously located on Concord Road. It would awesome if they would open another location either in the old Champ's BBQ , or the Old Dairy Queen next to Mexico Lindo. Fat Boy relocated to Marietta, has the same food they had on Concord, but have also added meals, vegetables, and a great bakery. Their gyros were the best!
