What's not on the agenda tonight. On Atlanta Rd. in front of The Village Green 124 lights have been installed for $758K. That's not including the sod.
64 pedestrian lights (straight pole w/ bubble light)
60 streetlights (straight pole w/ curved arm)
39 bollards (short sidewalk barricades)
You read that right. 124 lights + 39 bollards in a 2-3 block area. Street & pedestrian lights aren't to be planted like jonquils. These lights are to serve a purpose which is to provide safety for pedestrians and drivers not enrich the bank accounts of Croy Engineering and other contractors.

I agree....way too many light posts, and light pollution (yes, there is such a thing!). Also, why isn't Smyrna installing solar-powered lights? Smyrna taxpayers will have to pay the huge electric bill! The new traffic signal posts at major intersections of Smyrna look great and are a good investment. However, these excessive light posts on a not-so-important street are a silly waste of money in these tough economic times!

Ms. Pritchett what has happened to "the Granicus suite of expansive citizen participation, agenda workflow and government transparency solutions"? I was really hoping you'd prove us all wrong and actually be telling the truth for once.

Thanks for deleting my comment! I still say they light up city hall like a circus tent. Don't hold it against me if the council can act like clowns.
