Whiz Kid With An Eye On Hollywood

Smyrna-Vinings Patch's profile on a local kid who has made his parents and the community proud.

Name: Parker Wierling

Age: 15

School:  The Lovett School, 9th Grade

Whiz Kid Accomplishments: Parker, a Smyrna resident, knew at the age of 8 that he wanted to act. He caught the bug while performing as Grandpa Woods in "No Strings Attached" at The Lovett School. Since then he has never looked back, performing in every school and community theatre production he could audition for while taking as many classes and workshops as he could. As a result, Parker won the Director’s Award for Theatre Arts while in middle school and the Best Overall Presentation Performance at his acting school. Now focused mainly on film and voice-over projects, Parker has his sights set on Hollywood. He recently signed with the Jana VanDyke Agency and has booked roles on several film, TV and voiceover projects including “Unspoken Words,” “Uncle Tom’s Cabin,” “Boulevard West,” “Made,” “Let’s Get Spunky,” and “Harry Strange.” He has also auditioned with several big LA casting directors hoping to someday land the role that will change his life.

Other Info About Parker: Parker attends The Lovett School where he is supported by a strong Performing Arts department. In addition to the Lovett training he receives, he studies an extra three days a week at The Company Acting Studio, a nationally recognized acting school in Atlanta. Besides his passion for acting, he has a love for music too. He has trained with Jan Smith Studios in voice and has recently joined a band with several of his Lovett friends where he plays bass guitar. You can help support Parker’s love for acting by becoming a fan on his Facebook page - www.facebook.com/parkerwierling. You can also find more details on his website www.parkerwierling.com

Key to Awesomeness: Passion is Parker’s key to awesomeness! He is truly passionate about acting whether on-stage or on-camera. Most importantly, he is a friend to everyone. His kindness, dedication and commitment will get him far in life.
