Will Cain Endorsement Give Gingrich a Boost?

Georgia businessman Herman Cain backs former Georgia congressman Newt Gingrich. Does it matter?

Former GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain voiced his support for Newt Gingrich during an appearance in Florida on Saturday.

The analysts at the New York Times' Five Thirty Eight blog and Real Clear Politics say Romney has a solid lead in Florida, which holds its primary on Tuesday.

Has Gingrich lost his momentum? Can endorsements from Cain and Fred Thompson, who stopped in Atlanta on Thursday to stump for Gingrich, help him bounce back?

"Back to earth"?

Too bad.

I had thought taking himself and his boards deciding just who gets amnesty to the Moon a wonderful idea.

Well, almost, I was hoping he'd expand on the idea to take the Mexican Government's stateside consulates with them.

Ooops! But, one way or the other, those consulates would have constituted those boards anyway.

Cain is an arrogant liar, who refuses to accept any responsibility for his deceitful actions, and still blames everyone else for the fact he is no longer a contender. So why his endorsement would mean anything to anyone, is beyond me. I do believe what consenting adults do should remain in their private lives, but since they both see fit to judge everyone else on these grounds, it's only fair that we consider theirs. They are both hypocrites of the highest order.

The number of Republicans in the country increased by a percentage point in December, while the number of Democrats fell back two points to the lowest level ever recorded by Rasmussen Reports.

During December, 35.4% of Americans considered themselves Republicans. That’s up from 34.3% in November and just below the high for the year of 35.6% reached in May.

At the same time, just 32.7% of adults said they were Democrats, down from 34.9% in November. The previous low for Democrats was 33.0% in August of this year. .

The number of voters not affiliated with either of the major political parties rose to 32.0% in December from 30.8% the month before.

Rasmussen Reports tracks this information based on telephone interviews with approximately 15,000 adults per month and has been doing so since November 2002. The margin of error for the full sample is less than one percentage point, with a 95% level of confidence.

I have to say I have found this endorsement rather amusing. So far Gingrich has been endorsed by Herman Cain, Rudy Giuliani, and the Palins. We know Herman and Rudy both have or have had some serious women "issues". And Gingrich is probably the only candidate who would accept Palin's endorsement since both want to be known as mavericks.

Palin had also endorsed another would-be maverick Karin Handel.

Btw, do recall Oxendine's television ad aired during the last few days prior to the last Republican primary. Handel was photographed through (from a Peeping-Tom-like POV) an open venetian blind digital effect depicting an image of her not unlike a mugshot of a person in the last throe of a mental break-down initiating commital to a mental institution.

Has it occurred to anyone just what involunatry mill was Handel put through to come up with a photgraph like that?

And just where is she since?

A webpage did appear only months ago showing Handel supposedly endorsing the primary's victor during the final hours of that primary's election returns---in direct conflict with all reports at the time that she was declining to say anything or to see anyone including reporters at the time.

I provided readers a credible poll, with a low MOE and high confidence. Any assertions made from it are your own.

History supports the fact that 'independent' voters almost always swing Presidential elections. The increase of 'indies' is notable.

Max, the number of Republicans and Democrats is not really the issue here. First it doesn't address the topic of this post. Secondly, it doesn't address the climate of voters right now. Many Republicans are unhappy with the current choices for candidates. Suggesting that some will stay home and not vote at all. As with the last election independents did make quite a difference and again the choices they have tend to imply that they will again favor a Democratic candidate.

"Max, the number of Republicans and Democrats is not really the issue here."

Someone should have told Obama before he reached the low-point of his State of the Union Address when asking "Why can't we be just like them?"

"Them" being "the Navy Seals who had killed Bin-Laden and could be Democrat or Republican" while knowing full well "28 of the 30" were later killed in a helicopter ambush by the Taliban.

Obviously, feeding off the living is not enough.

And now comes to today's (use the following keywords for i-net search):

"US confirms possible release of Taliban from Gitmo"

So much for the lives of Navy Seals, and all Americans, be they "Democrat or Republican" dead or alive.

Much less, Principled, Independent, Disgusted, etc.

Romney is outspending Gingrich 5-to-1. Since, corporations are people and money is speech (such that those with the most money have the most speech), Gingrich doesn't have a prayer.

@Cheryl Are you the Patch Police? (;>) BTW, what is the source of your assertion?

Rassy's poll is an interesting factoid, way too early to make any predictions. The Supreme Court may actually greatly influence the election. If the Supremes significantly gut ACA, that will not bode well for the President.

Some say the President will not win if unemployment is still 8%.

This is an activist Presidency, if we could get a better national energy policy, that would swing many Indies and is paramount to the US anyway.

Funny Max. I'm just not sure why you posted the poll. It states facts from December, that was nearly two months ago. There are a lot of factors that will come into play during the next election. The number of electorates on either side is just one of those things.

I posted the poll to illustrate the schism within the GOP. To me, more "indies" indicates dissatisfaction with the prospect of Santorum, Paul, or Gringrich rising in popularity, and the stark prospect of a Romney nomination.

As well, a rise in GOP voters indicates a clear dislike for the current President. A fall in Dem voters, further substantiates. Watch Rassy moving forward, this poll is highly reliable.

Romney has promised a 4% increase in military spending, no real changes to gov't spending or revenues. He will give the US four more years of status quo, and you know what?

It will be great!

Yep, growth will return as certainty returns to the market, especially since major provisions of the ACA will be decided by June/July.

Only problem? Numbers don't lie.

A failure to right US deficit spending will result in a horrible outcome. Nobody can ever say, "Gee, I never heard that would happen." Taxing the rich won't resolve the budget issue all by itself, but those changes are needed.

It doesn't matter who POTUS is, as Tom points out Citizens United V. SEC insures that either Party's pony will run the Country as indicated.

Unless people begin to exercise their Constitutional rights, en mass. People will and can make a difference, this is still true. To think otherwise, means we are living in a dead Democracy. I don't buy that.

Given how Obama's AG Holder has long and at best ignored the election complaint of officials and employees of the MxGov registering voters for US elections (since prior to the last General Election, SCOTUS should be looking at this:

It certainly wouldn't surprise me that Gingrich has good reason to expect being Obama's VP---as a ground-breaking gesture of Non-Partisanship no doubt---though Gingrich would prefer SOS.

Still reserved, I'm sure, for MxCty's bagman, Bill Richardson.

That is if Obama wins at all.

Don Gabcho,

How is voting to re-elect a current President from your party any different than it is usually done? In fact, isn't that how it is usually done? How often do parties change candidates and not opt for re-election of a sitting President?

Max

9:26 am on Tuesday, January 31, 2012

Mitt will probably get the nomination - Maybe he will prevail over President Obama, if the electoral votes come in. As Ms. Vinson points out, that is not a given.

If elected, Mitt may be a great President. Or he may avoid making the necessary and tough decisions to keep the US solvent for the next ten years. China will be paid, of that I am certain. Unless things change, I do not see the current Administration doing what is needed to cut spending.

As William F. Buckley said, "I vote for the most conservative candidate that has a chance of winning."

I love it that the President addressed healthcare, the GOP was unable to make that happen. I hate the way the Bill was passed into law.

Any objective observer can plainly see adding 20 million new people to Medicare is going to fail, unless major changes are made. By 2018-20, Medicare is going bust, so is Medicaid.

ACA removes the patient/doctor relationship from being at the center of decsions, that is unworkable.

People better wake up to the cold and apolitical reality of these facts.

"MxGov" = the Mexican Government;

Obviously, the US Constitution does not empower any foreign power, including the Mexican Government to involve itself i (incognito no less) n US elections. Election complaint, beginning prior to the last General Election, was made to the SOS of GA plus later follow-up, with proofs of the identities, to Obama's USDOJ.

"How does this relate to the subject"?

Doesn't the subject have something to do with a U.S. election?

As to "your (my) party"?

Being a "party" of one, my "party" has no nomination process.

The "putting all their eggs into one basket" question still stands no matter any party's nomination process.

Max

10:08 am on Tuesday, January 31, 2012

His comments bring awareness to issues that many don't want to discuss.

Politically, nobody is interested in "trying to bring it together,' and time does not favor confusion.
