Wing Zone Opens Flagship Store in Smyrna

The Atlanta-based restaurant franchise will have a grand opening ceremony at its new Smyrna location.

Wing Zone, an Atlanta-based restaurant franchise, will hold a grand opening this Saturday for its new flagship location in Smyrna.

The first 25 people who get in the door at 11 a.m. on Saturday win free food for a year, and representatives with the company say line ups usually begin the night before.

The new restaurant, located at 4490 S. Cobb Drive, opened in late September. It has a larger dine-in area with 48 seats and offers drive-thru service. It is the fourth Wing Zone location in Georgia.

“With the Smyrna location, we wanted to bring a whole new Wing Zone experience to our customers by creating an even larger dine-in area,” said Wing Zone co-founder Matt Friedman. “We can’t wait for our fans to experience our flagship restaurant.”

Friedman and Adam Scott created the chain in their University of Florida fraternity kitchen in 1991. Their award-winning Buffalo chicken wings and homemade sauces gained much popularity all over campus, and soon thereafter, the founders began expanding their concept and settling on Atlanta to headquarter their franchising efforts.
