I am writing in support of Oxford Academy and Oxoford Babies. We moved to Smyrna in 2003. We were new to the city and we would not be active in this community without the connections we made through our daughter and son attending school at Oxford.
We first tried another school (a chain Daycare) and after 3 days, we were so disappointed and shocked at the care, we immediately took our daughter out. I was going to quit work when I decided to reach out to the Smiths. Cindy and Jimmy Smith (owners of Oxford) were kind enough to hear our story and helped us out as neighbors and as citizens of Smyrna. They understood our story and realized that we were building a family and a community.
We love the sense of community that Oxford provides and the parents that it brings together. We have met the most amazing families and friends through the school and we would not be as happy as we are without Oxford.
It breaks my heart to see so many signs and negative attacks toward a family that has loved Smyrna and been such a big part of its growth. I hope and pray that people spend the time to truly understand the Smiths and what they want to bring to Smyrna.
