Smyrna Teen Represents Team USA in the World Karate Championship in Poland

Local Smyrna resident, Maggie Garrett is on her way to Lodz, Poland to represent the United States in the World Karate Championship on October 2. Maggie is a freshman at Campbell High School. After years of training under Sensei Toru Shimoji at Traditional Karate of Atlanta, Maggie was honored to be able to join Team USA.

Maggie is an "A" student who excelled in Marietta City School's STEM program, participating in Duke Tip, and maintaining a 4.0 grade point average. She is currently enrolled as a freshman in Campbell's International Baccalaureate program.

Maggie is one of two young women competing on the USA team in the Cadet division. She will be in the company of amazing athletes from over 32 countries.

Please join us at Traditional Karate of Atlanta on September 29 to celebrate her achievements as well as the achievements of Sasa Panic, a seasoned USA team member and instructor at Traditional Karate of Atlanta who will also compete in this year's World Championship.
