King Springs Elementary Hosts STEM Night

The event, which will feature more than two dozen activity stations, is designed to help families and community members get a better grasp of this new curriculum.

Teachers at a Smyrna elementary school will join members of the PTA to showcase science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs to the community.

King Springs Elementary School is hosting STEM Night on Thursday, Jan. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the school's cafeteria and gym. There will be roughly 30 activity stations manned by Kings Springs teachers and PTA members that will give students and their families a chance to get hands-on experience with STEM's curriculum.

A STEM education is designed to help students compete in the global marketplace by integrating the four fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics into a cross-discipline study which will create more technologically-savvy future members of the workforce.
