Smyrna-Vinings Thanksgiving Related Closings, Schedule Changes

ORIGINAL STORY: Thanksgiving is just a few hours away, and the folks at the City of Smyrna want you to know their schedules will be changing due to the upcoming holiday.

For example, if you get your trash picked up on Thursday or Friday, leave it out today; the last garbage run for the week is being carried out today.

The city's administrative offices will close on Thursday and remain closed until Monday. Essential services like police and fire fighting will continue, but the police records division will close at noon Wednesday and will not re-open until Monday.

Additionally, the Smyrna Public Library is closing early on Wednesday. The library would close at 6 p.m. on a normal Wednesday but is closing at 6 p.m. due to the impending holiday. The library will remain closed until Saturday.

Other holiday closings include:

• The city's recycling center will close on Thursday, and will reopen Saturday.
• The Smyrna Community Center, Brawner Hall, Taylor-Brawner House, and Wolfe Adult Recreation Center are all closed on Thursday and Friday.
