Atlantic Station to be Atlanta's Spot for Fall Fun

Festivals, pep rallies and live entertainment — these are some of the fun fall happenings taking place at Atlantic Station this year. Midtown’s mixed-use development will be home to family-friendly activities for all to enjoy.

Atlanta Bar-B-Q Festival

Fall gets tasty with the 5th annual Atlanta Bar-B-Q Festival on Sept. 13 and Sept. 14. This celebration of everything smoked and roasted features live music, barbecue cooking demonstrations and a VIP experience that have earned the festival a spot in The Travel Channel’s top ten barbecue festivals in the U.S.

The VIP experience, limited to 100 guests, gives access to a Q&A with Jonathan and Justin Fox of Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q. For $85, guests can feast on locally-farmed Berkshire pork, southern sides and a selection of 20 top-shelf bourbons. The VIP experience is for guests 21 and older.

Tech Town Fan Fest

To kick off the fall season, Atlantic Station’s Central Park will transform into Tech Town Fan Fest, a hub for Georgia Tech football. At Friday Night Fan Fest, guests can enjoy the Yellow Jacket marching band, everyone’s favorite mascot Buzz, Yellow Jacket cheerleaders, the school’s dance team and The Ramblin’ Wreck. Friday Night Fan Fest runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sept. 20, Oct. 18 and Nov. 29.

After festivities in Central Park, guests can enjoy live entertainment and specials at Meehan’s Public House, Tech Town Fan Fest’s official pub and restaurant.

On game days, all are invited to watch Georgia Tech games on the big screen. Georgia Tech students and faculty can also take advantage of special discounts around Atlantic Station.

Fans can use Atlantic Station’s convenient parking and catch the Stinger Shuttle to and from Bobby Dodd Stadium every home game. The shuttle will run beginning two-and-a-half hours before kick-off and one-and-a-half hours after the game has ended. The shuttle will stop on Atlantic Station’s East District Street and will drop off at the intersection of Third Street and Spring Street.

Guests can catch the Stinger Shuttle for the following home games:

·      Sept. 21 vs. The University of North Carolina

·      Sept. 26 vs. Virginia Tech

·      Oct. 19 vs. Syracuse University

·      Nov. 2 vs. University of Pittsburgh

·      Nov. 23 vs. Alabama A&M University

·      Nov. 30 vs. The University of Georgia

Passport to Luxury

Passport to Luxury, hosted by Jezebel Magazine, will bring high-fashion fun to Atlantic Station Sept. 25. Guests are invited to visit STRIP Restaurant in Central Park for cocktail specials and a “Passport to Luxury.” The passport can be used in Athleta, Banana Republic, Bill Hallman, Demure, K-la, Pinkheart and more. Guests can enjoy shopping specials and styling advice from Atlantic Station’s celebrity stylist, Christopher Macken.

Fall Concert Series

Every Friday in October, Atlantic Station’s Central Park is transforming into a live music venue. Each concert will be presented by Cumulus, Samuel Adams OctoberFest and Jaegermeister. Visit www.atlanticstation.com for event updates and details.

Spooky Express

An eerie fun train rides into Atlantic Station this fall. The Spooky Express will be the Halloween spot for Midtown’s young ghouls and goblins. Starting Oct. 4, the train departs from the Spooky Station every weekend, weather permitting. Hours are Fridays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturdays from noon to 9 p.m.; Sundays from noon to 7 p.m.; and Halloween from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $3 directly from the train conductor.

Fall Festival

Atlantic Station is teaming up with Radio Disney and Midtown Bridge Church Oct. 26 for the family-friendly Fall Festival. Beginning at 1 p.m., live entertainment, sand art, temporary tattoos and more will be available for all to enjoy.  

As part of the Fall Festival, children and parents can show off their autumn spirit in the kids’ costume contest from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Furry friends can also join in on the fun during the dog costume contest from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. After winners are crowned, participants can trick-or-treat in the shops around Atlantic Station until 5 p.m.
