New Service Gives You Mobile and Digital Access to Smyrna Public Library

Starting today, patrons at Smyrna Public Library can now access hoopla digital – a new service that provides library card holders with free online and mobile access to videos, music and audiobooks. Smyrna card holders can enjoy on-demand content from their smartphones, tablets, PCS and Apple TV without waiting to borrow.  And hoopla digital’s automatic return feature eliminates late fees.

hoopla digital recently announced an enhanced 2.0 interface and new partnerships with Universal Pictures, MGM, National Geographic and BBC America. The new catalog includes popular movies and shows such as Scarface and Liar Liar and the latest album releases like Drake’s “Nothing was the Same” and Katy Perry’s “Prism.”

Category-Creating Mobile Service Unveils 2.0 Interface, Adds Thousands of Hollywood Titles and TV Shows for Patrons of Participating Public Libraries

 

HOLLAND, Ohio (Nov. 6, 2013) Bringing more than 10,000 Hollywood movies and TV shows to participating public libraries across the U.S. and Canada, hoopla digital (hoopladigital.com), today announced new content partnerships with Universal Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Inc., National Geographic and BBC America.  hoopla digital partners with public libraries across North America to provide patrons with online and mobile access to dynamic digital content.

 

With these new content partnerships, hoopla digital expands its offering of videos, music and audiobooks to include popular movies and shows such as Scarface, Liar Liar, House of Cards and more, now available for patrons to stream instantly to their smartphones, tablets and computers. Patrons can also enjoy popular music albums such as Drake’s “Nothing was the Same” and Katy Perry’s “Prism,” as well as educational content from National Geographic and BBC America with shows like Great Migrations, Secret Yellowstone and The Planets.

 

Through hoopla digital’s mobile app and website, this content is available for patrons of participating public libraries to borrow.  Participating libraries only pay for what patrons use. hoopla digital currently has agreements in place with Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros Entertainment, Inc., Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group and eOne Music.

There is no waiting to borrow movies on hoopla digital since on-demand content can be enjoyed by multiple patrons simultaneously.  Patrons who use hoopla digital also avoid library late fees as digital content borrowing periods simply expire without additional charges.

 

hoopla digital, which plans to grow to 800 libraries by the end of 2014, now has partnerships with more than 40 library systems across North America including: The Seattle Public Library, Los Angeles Public Library, Salt Lake Public Library, Edmonton Public Library and Hamilton Public Library.
