Blues-rock and soul fans will no doubt be able to plug into the dynamic soul-rock power of the AJ Ghent Band.

A lust-filled, swaggering, stormy slide-guitar playing front man who sings tales of heartbreak, betrayal and beauty, AJ Ghent is reminiscent of James Brown and Otis Redding as he bellows out funky rock. His guitar playing is a masterful mix of Jimi Hendrix, Albert King and Ben Harper. AJ Ghent has a unique  stand-up lap steel approach, and he floods the stage with energy. The notes leap from his guitar, grab the listener and lead them to a fun place of sultry bright summer rock.

The AJ Ghent Band – Gary Paulo on saxophone and rhythm guitar, Will Groth on drums, Seth Watters on bass guitar, MarLa Ghent(wife) and Tiffany Ghent Belle (sister) on vocals and percussion – produce infectious, tight, smiled-filled grooves that have grown out of southern rockers like Lynryd Skynard and The Allman Brothers Band, and out of Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder.

Since forming in August 2012, the Atlanta-based AJ Ghent Band has toured with bands like the Zac Brown Band and cranked out epic rock jams of southern rock, soul and funk music that AJ Ghent calls “Southern Soul.” Every night the AJ Ghent Band graces the stage with a sexy, bluesy presence that pleases crowds everywhere as the band lets loose original hits such as “Elevator Love” and “Keep on Workin” and cover hits like “Purple Rain” and Dock of the Bay.”

The debut album from The AJ Ghent Band is coming soon.
