Are Smyrna's Geese Nice or a Nuisance?

According to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Canada geese just like it here.

Are geese the new urban scourge? Some folks thinks so. Β told WSB that she's tired of them "leaving presents" in her yard and wishes someone would do something about it.Β

Smyrna has its fair share of geese as well. They can often be seen padding around the pond behind the or flying overhead.Β

WSB reported that the Georgia Department of Natural Resources said that there's been a Canada geese population explosion in metro Atlanta over the past few years for no other reason than they really like it here. Some people like them here too.

After conducting a very unscientific poll on the Smyrna-Vinings Patch Facebook page it would appear that most people "love" to have them around Smyrna.

"Love them!"

"Love them! I always drive slow and hope that I will see them on my way home from work."

"I love them & makes my day seeing them with their lil' babies!"

"I love them so much, I look forward to seeing them as I drive by each day...makes me smile."

But not everyone is so thrilled by the geese.

"I think they need to learn to poop somewhere besides the sidewalk."

"I think they're trying to kill themselves at the Village Pkwy/Cobb Pkwy intersection."
