Clean Out Those Closets and Shop for Good Causes
Here's a roundup of the weekend's sales plus some opportunities to do good.
Whether you’re cleaning out your closet or shopping for new spring looks for your family, Smyrna-Vinings Patch has a roundup of weekend plans for you.
If spring cleaning is on your weekend agenda consider cleaning out your closet and donating your old dresses and accessories to Becca’s Closet, a nonprofit that provides free prom dresses and accessories to high school girls who can’t afford them. The Smyrna chapter is based out of . Girls from Cobb, Fulton and Paulding counties are invited to hit the racks to find the perfect prom dress, but not without your help. Ana Murphy, Becca’s Closet Smyrna’s co-sponsor, said they are now accepting donations for prom dresses, especially larger sizes, and accessories like necklaces, earrings and shoes. If you have a dress to donate or if you’re looking for a prom dress, send an email to beccasclosetatlanta@gmail.com.
’s MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) begins Friday at 9:30 a.m. The sale features clothes for children ages eight and younger, maternity clothes, toys, baby gear, books and bedding. The first 500 shoppers receive a free goody bag. Children in strollers are welcome to attend and there is no fee to shop. The sale is open Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Also on Saturday, shop for designer children’s looks while benefitting a Smyrna nonprofit. The at Atlantic Station is Saturday, Feb. 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Designer children’s styles will be offered at up to 70 percent off the retail price. The sale is located at 1381 Market Street Northwest and admission is $5. A portion of the admission fee will benefit , a Smyrna nonprofit that helps underserved Cobb County children develop a love of learning.
Brides-to-be, mark your calendars now for the Georgia Bridal Show at Cobb Galleria Centre Saturday March 4 from noon to 5 p.m. Bridal boutiques, photographers and food vendors will be on site with samples of their products. Registered brides receive a year subscription to Brides Magazine and are eligible to win a honeymoon package. Admission is $10, cash-only, at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased online for $9.
