St. Francis Day Pet Blessing
St. Francis, one of the most beloved saints of the Christian Church lived in the 12th century in Italy. He is known for his deep love for nature, as we can see with the many statues of him holding birds. His love of animals is the reason we celebrate the blessing of animals on his feast day.
We will observe his feast day on Sunday, October 9, with a service of blessing at 4:00 and a pot-luck dinner at 5:00.
Bring your pets and share with us in this time of blessing as we remember both St. Francis as well as our own love for all God's creatures. All in the community are welcome to come and share in this time of blessing and thanksgiving!
