Festive Fun for Kids

Ole Saint Nick is back in Smyrna this weekend and Radio Disney is preparing for another family-friendly "Noon Year's Eve'' in the Jonquil City.

Looking for fun things to do with the kids? The Dream Makers Youth Foundation (DMYF), a local non-profit organization that offers educational, recreational, and therapeutic services to children with special needs, will be hosting its 3rd Annual Kids’ Holiday Party tonight from 6 – 8 p.m.

A wonderful time is expected decorating cookies, making Christmas decorations and experiencing a visit from you know who, who, who as Santa gives kids, both naughty and nice, Christmas gifts.

If you and your child(ren) are interested in joining the festivities, of if you are available to volunteer, contact DMYF at: info@dmyf.info. The event will take place at the DMYF Smyrna office located at 620E Powder Springs Street.

Also, Dream Makers has become eligible to win a $10,000 Pepsi Refresh Project grant to fund their annual .

Santa again stops by Aunt Fanny’s Cabin Saturday in Smyrna. His visit will last from 6 - 8 p.m. and admission is free. Aunt Fanny’s Cabin is located on Atlanta Road across the street from the Market Village in downtown Smyrna.

Santa wil also be at Aunt Fanny's on Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6-8 earch evening.

The U.S. premiere of Cavalia's new production "Odysseo" is ongoing in Midtown and is a wonderful experience for kids 10 and up. The so-called "equestrian odyssey," takes viewers on a visual journey to a wild, dream world with galloping horses, acrobats and special effects. The show, which takes place under a mammoth tent in the Centergy parking lot at Spring and 8th streets, features 69 horses and 55 artists. It is scheduled to run through Jan. 8, 2012. And finally, looking ahead, , is ready to again make New Year’s a family affair with its annual family-friendly "Noon Year's Eve" event at the . Radio Disney AM 590 invites kids and families to ring in the New Year on Dec. 31 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. This festive celebration gives kids the opportunity to have all the fun of New Year’s Eve before their bedtime.
