A Halloween-themed Peachtree qualifying race is coming to Smyrna for its fifth year.

The Spooktacular Chase 5K will kick off at Cobb Park, across the street from Campbell High School, at 8 a.m. on Oct. 19. The 1K race will begin at 9 a.m.

Proceeds for the race will benefit Vision Rehabilitation Services of Georgia, which has served Georgians with vision impairment for three decades.

Racers will be chasing Seemore the Owl, the mascot of the race, through the historic neighborhoods of Smyrna.

Teams are encouraged! Get your friends together as a team and race together in costume! Here's how you can put your team together.

Teams are also invited to carve pumpkins during the Pre-Race Expo on Oct. 18 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The pumpkins will be used as mile markers along the race route.

Registration for the 5K and 1K races is $25 a person until Sept. 30. If your team has 10 or more people, your cost is only $20. Each participant will get a long sleeved performance shirt (they are unisex, so order a size smaller than you usually do).
