Freeze Warnings in Effect for Smyrna, Cobb This Week

Sub-freezing temperatures are expected tonight and tomorrow night.

Time to dig your heavy coats and hats out of the closet.

The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 13-14. Temperatures overnight Wednesday and Thursday are expected to dip below freezing.

The freeze warning for Wednesday extends between 1 - 10 a.m., while a second freeze warning begins at 10 p.m. Wednesday to 9 a.m. Thursday.

In addition, a wind advisory has been issued for the area until 1 a.m. Wednesday. Gusts of up to 35 mph could be coming our way.

In Smyrna, temperatures are expected to hit a low of 26 degrees overnight Tuesday and Wednesday. Between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, expect the mercury to sit even lower in the thermometer, as temperatures could be as low as 24 degrees.

If you have sensitive outdoor plants, bring them inside or protect them against the cold Tuesday and Wednesday nights to prevent them from freezing to death.
