Holiday Treats: M&M's, Nutella

An easy recipe that's sure to be a hit with kids and kids at heart.

If you are on a diet, or a health food junkie, stop reading now. I warn you, the recipe I'm about to share isn't healthy. In fact, it includes ingredients like butter, M&M candies and Nutella hazelnut spread. However, if you want a cookie recipe that's unique and sure to be a crowd pleaser, you must try this.

This is another one of those recipes I found on Pinterest (yes, I have an addiction) and, like I said, it isn't healthy but boy, it sure tastes good. I'm a believer in moderation, meaning anything is good for you, as long as it's in moderation. I like to apply this philosophy to food especially. As someone who enjoys eating good food, I think it's important to not starve yourself for the "perfect" body. As long as you exercise at least twice a week and are active, I see no reason why you can't indulge a little in life's fine pleasures... like butter, Nutella and M&M candies.

To make this cookie recipe, you'll need the following:

  • 1 c. butter, softened
  • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 -3/4 c. Nutella
  • 1 package mini M&M's

To start, line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Next, using a stand mixer or electric hand mixer, cream together the butter and brown sugar. Add in the yolks, continuing to mix, and then the flour. Once mixed together, take scoops of the dough and form into 1-inch rounds. Place on the cookie sheet and, using your thumb, press down on the center. Bake for 10-12 minutes, then cool on a wire rack. Once cooled, place a small scoop of Nutella into the thumbprint and top with 5-6 mini M&M's. Enjoy!

Are these the apartments that were once called "Garrison Plantation"?
Lissa K. June 15, 2013 at 09:32 pm
This is Garrison Plantation - Garrison Lakes - Lakefront Vista. I lived there when it was familyRead More owned. It went from sister to brother then sold. Changed name from Garrison Plantation (because it wasn't PC) (but no one thought about what a garrison was) to Garrison Lakes (there's only one lake) to Lakefront Vista (under new ownership.) It's a dump now. The layout and size of the apts. are great. Even the location is great. Still know some people there. But it went downhill.

I'd rather answer the question "How do you feel about Roswell Street Baptist Church?" MyRead More answer: can't stand it. This incident is just another in its long and bigoted history. During the anti gay lifestyle debacle it gave out copies of the 10 Commandments. That anti gay resolution drafted by Gordon Wysong and enacted by the Cobb Co. Commissioners cost the county an Olympic venue. Whenever I hear about that church I think of the OM who called the church's prominent members The Marietta Mafia!

Its sad, that young people who are gay and often struggle to accept themselves as they are, faceRead More such fury and rejection by a church that preaches love, compassion and forgiveness for most but not all. No wonder many young people, the vast majority of whom are or will be heterosexual find the church increasingly irrelevant in their lives with attitudes like this.
