Keep Smyrna Beautiful Garden Tour is Saturday

Proceeds from the 2014 Garden Tour will be used to plant trees at Brawner Park and other public places.

Smyrna has fabulous gardens and this year Keep Smyrna Beautiful gives you a chance to get an inside look at the gardening talents of our active and resourceful citizens.

The Keep Smyrna Beautiful Garden TourΒ is Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. - rain or shine. Come enjoy the gardens, music, artists, food, a plant sale and more!

Ticket for 2014 may be purchased at the Community Center, Backyard Feed, the Recycling Center, Love Street and Vickery Hardware until Friday evening (between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.).

After that, tickets maybe be purchased at the Taylor-Brawner House on Atlanta Road the day of the event. In advance, tickets are $10. On the day of the event, they are $15.

The following are some helpful tips:

* Rain or shine
* Carpool if possible; parking will be limited
* Wear comfortable walking shoes. You may want to bring along your preferred sunscreen and insect repellent in case you need them.
* Restrooms and free refreshments are available at the Tea Room (Taylor-Brawner House). Leave your ticket stub there for the door prize drawing.
* Strollers will not be approprate for all gardens.
