Local Attorney Holding Book Signing Later This Week

Attorney Lance LoRusso has written a guide book for law enforcement on officer-involved shootings.

A Smyrna attorney will be signing copies of his latest book geared towards the law enforcement community on Friday and Saturday from 12 to 3 p.m. at Adventure Outdoors at 2500 South Cobb Dr.

Lance J. LoRusso's book, "When Cops Kill," attempts to tackle the fallout of an officer-involved shooting from a department's perspective. LoRusso discusses the process of an internal affairs investigation and gives tips on how to properly deal with the aftermath of an officer-involved shooting both for the individual who pulled the trigger and the department he or she works for.

Reviews of the book on Amazon.com are very positive, with several users (including a retired Cobb County police officer) proclaiming that the work should be required reading for law enforcement and peace officers.

Recently, LoRusso made headlines as the attorney for former Canton Police Department sergeant Stacy Bailey, who received a $60,000 settlement from the City of Canton in lost wages and damages.
