Local Winter Break Camps and Activities

Looking for ways to keep the kids busy and engaged while they’re out on winter break? Check out these camps being held during the break and register quickly before they are all filled. 

• On Tuesday, Dec. 27 and Thursday, Dec. 29, parents can drop their children off at Moore’s Martial Arts at 1810 Spring Road in Smyrna for a day of exercises, basic Chinese Martial Arts instruction, arts and crafts and movies. The camp days begin at 11 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. Parents must provide lunch.

Children from 4 to 12 are invited to participate. The two-day session costs $60 for one child, $100 for two and $140 for three. Register online by clicking here or calling the studio at (678) 602-2908.

• Students can create sculptures or dabble in painting in ART with Move-It Fitness in Vinings. Students can participate in a morning ($36), afternoon($35), full day ($66) or extended day ($71) camp. All morning camps and full day camps include the MOVE-IT fitness class.  Students are escorted over the Ivy Walk internal brick patio to the gym of the Studio Atlanta Dance for the fitness portion of the camp.  All art supplies and snacks are included. • The Atlanta Zoo Winter Safari day camp runs from Dec. 27-30 for students in kindergarten to fifth grade. Students will have up-close encounters with the animals and participate in exclusive tours and arts and crafts during the day camp .Each day begins at 9 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m. Extended care drop-off and pick-up times range from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Registration is $56 for members and $70 for non-members. • From Monday, Dec. 26 through Friday, Dec. 30, rising kindergarteners to rising sixth graders can participate in the Georgia Aquarium’s Winter Break Camp H2O. Each day the campers learn about underwater creatures and habitats with fun games and activities. The daily rate for non-members is $70.95 and for members, the cost is $60.95 per day. • childcare center is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Students participate in various projects. The program fee is $35 per day. During the holiday season, each Kids R Kids location can accept up to 50 children into the programs.
