Recycle Christmas trees at the Vinings Home Depot

Keep Smyrna Beautiful is sponsoring "Bring One for the Chipper," allowing residents to drop off their Christmas trees at local Home Depot location.

Don't throw out that Christmas Tree. Bring one for the Chipper!

is sponsoring "Bring One for the Chipper," a free tree-recycling dropoff site at the Cumberland Parkway Home Depot on Jan. 7 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Drop off your tree and get a free dogwood, redbud, or cedar seedling.

Volunteers are still needed to help direct traffic and unload trees. Call 770-431-2863 and leave a message and someone from Keep Smyrna Beautiful will get back to you.

Christmas trees can be recycled to create fuel, mulch, habitats for wildlife and other useful materials.

And each day until Jan. 9, trees can also be recycled at Lost Mountain Park in Powder Springs, where on Jan. 8, free seedlings will be given away while supplies last.

After Jan. 8, free mulch will be provided to Cobb citizens at Cobb Parks chipper locations as well as at Davey Trees (770-451-7911.)
