Smyrna's First Arbor Day Festival

Head to downtown Smyrna this Saturday for the city's first Arbor Day Festival.

Smyrna's first Arbor Day Festival will be held this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Smyrna Community Center. The event hosted by Keep Smyrna Beautiful and the Smyrna Tree Board is free to the public with limited space.

The festival will kick off with a speech by Joe Burgess, Smyrna's own Urban Forester, who will give tips on tree selection and care. Also featured at the event is Tim Womick of the Trail of Trees, who has been referred to as Georgia's own "Johnny Appleseed." Womick will present an entertaining and informative show about trees at 11 a.m.

There will be children's activities, pruning demonstrations and tours of the Arboretum, weather permitting. Refreshments will be served at noon.
