Snow Possible in Smyrna-Vinings Wednesday

There is a 60 percent chance of snow showers and sleet on the day before Thanksgiving.

The National Weather Service predicts that temperatures and precipitation in the Smyrna-Vinings area on Wednesday morning will be ripe for some snow showers and sleet.

According to the forecast, Wednesday's high will only reach 37 degrees, with an overnight low on Tuesday night of 33 degrees. The forecast calls for rain before 4 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a 60 percent chance of a mix of snow and sleet until 8 a.m. 

Wednesday night, it's going to be even colder, with temperatures expected to plunge into the low twenties. No precipitation is expected overnight Wednesday or on Thanksgiving Day.

The Smyrna-Vinings area is also under a flood watch until Wednesday at 7 a.m. Flooding could result due to predicted rainfall values of up to three inches or more in some areas.
