Get Rambunctious in the House: You may associate punishment with this infraction, but the South Cobb Arts Alliance encourages you to bring it on! Energetic musicians Kerry Ayres & Rambunctious promise to rock the house – Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre, that is – on Saturday. This free concert kicks off the summer long 2011 Candlelight Concert Series as the grand finale of the 6th annual Mableton Community Day. The Rambunctious ones will pull out all the stops with raucous classic rock and oldies everyone knows and loves, demonstrating their true “party band” reputation. The gate opens at 7 p.m. and music begins at 8. Admission is free in the general seating area and tables near the stage may be purchased for $50. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a picnic and a blanket, and enjoy the concert under the stars. Sorry, no lawn chairs are allowed. Call the Mable House Arts Center at 770-819-3285 to reserve a table.

Dahling, if you’re partial to a bit of culture, may we suggest checking out this weekend for an art opening worthy of the Big A. Critically acclaimed Ukrainian artist Dmitri Danish will be presenting the largest body of his stunning cityscape oil paintings and a retrospective of his Limited Edition Giclees (fine art digital prints) on Saturday night from 6 to 9 and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Rub elbows with other art lovers and meet the talented artist. “Our One-man shows at Vinings Gallery are always very exciting and filled with lots of energy,” said art consultant Micky Handler of Vinings Gallery. Mr. Danish “will be in attendance and is anxious to reconnect with his collectors and meet new Vinings Gallery friends,” Handler said. Guests are also invited to enjoy wine and sampling a variety of hors d’oeuvres.
