It was a beautiful Saturday and the crowds were large for the annual Taste of Smyrna. Smyrna spokeswoman Jennifer Bennett said the overflowing crowds reached close to 25,000 people during the daylong event.

Ted’s Montana Grill won for Best Appetizer for its crabs cakes, while J. Gumbos won for Best Decorated Booth.

And Marlow’s Tavern won three awards for Best Entrée (shrimp & grits), Best Dessert (honey bourbon bread pudding) and Best Food Presentation (shrimp & grits).
