The Week Ahead in Smyrna-Vinings

See what's coming up this week, including lane closures, a town hall meeting and Smyrna's Fall Jonquil Festival.

Cobb County Road Resurfacing: Asphalt paving operations, which will include lane closures with one lane remaining open at all times, are scheduled from Monday through Friday this week. Expect delays on Cooper Lake Road from South Cobb Drive to East-West Connector.

Smyrna Councilman Ron Fennel will hold a Ward 7 Town Hall meeting Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the new Smyrna Fire Station No. 5 at 750 Cooper Lake Road. Fennel will discuss recent Council actions, the recently opened fire station, traffic in the area and other Ward 7 related issues.

Pre-school age children and families can enjoy Halloween fun at Casper's Friendly Castle Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon. Bring your child to the Smyrna Community Center for a fun filled morning of carnival games, giant inflatables, magic shows, face painting, and much more. Admission is $10 per family. More than 175 vendors from across the country will be at Smyrna's Fall Jonquil Festival on Saturday, Oct. 27, and Sunday, Oct. 28. Experience a wide selection of festival foods as well as arts and crafts as you stroll through Village Green. There will also be live music and activities for kids.
