Trash, Yard Waste Not Accepted at Recycling Center After June 30

Those who still wish to drop off their trash and yard debris themselves can do so at the Advanced Disposal transfer station on South Cobb Drive.

Changes are coming to the . Effective June 30, trash and yard waste like grass clippings will no longer be accepted at the recycling center. The change does not affect curbside pick-up of trash and yard waste.

A notice posted to the city of Smyrna’s Facebook page said that the decision to discontinue drop off of yard waste and trash was made because of traffic and safety concerns at the recycling center. Recyclable items like cardboard, glass and plastic will still be accepted at the recycling center.

Residents who prefer to drop off their trash and grass clippings still have the option to do so. The Advanced Disposal transfer station at 4649 South Cobb Drive accepts loads under 400 pounds for a flat fee of $7.Β
