Food for Thought and Beauty

Saturday, August 24, 2013

At my age, I’ve become very interested in staying healthy. On a segment of the Doctors TV show they had a display of foods and health benefits. These three foods will make a great snack while improving your skin and bones.

According to http://www.lifescript.com you can improve your complexion and build better bones by eating a snack of mangoes, almonds and cottage cheese. Mangoes are chocked full of vitamin A (80% of your daily requirements) making them a great face food. Vitamin A is needed to maintain and repair skin cells. It will also fight against dry skin and premature aging.

With 150% of your daily need for vitamin E almonds are also great for your complexion.

Put them in a bowl of fat free cottage cheese and you will also add protein and calcium to help improve your lean body mass. Lifescript.com notes that fruit added to cottage cheese is a great low-fat afternoon or pre-workout snack.
