Parts of I-285 in Vinings Closed for Resurfacing This Week

See which exits will be closed when.

Parts of Interstate 285 in Vinings will be closed for resurfacing each night through Thursday, said the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Weather permitting the resurfacing begins Monday, Aug. 6 at 9 p.m. and continues till 5 a.m. the following day. Here’s the schedule:

  • Eastbound Exit 18 on-ramp from Paces Ferry Road

One ramp closed at a time each location, 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday

One ramp closed at a time each location, 9 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday                                                                         

Thursday, August 9, 2012 – Ramps

  • Westbound Exit 18 on-ramp from Paces Ferry Road
  • I-285 westbound outside shoulder from Paces Ferry Road to U.S. 41
  • Eastbound Exit 19 off-ramp to Cobb Parkway

One ramp closed at a time each location, 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday                                                                          

In a press release DOT said milling and mainlining of the roads will be completed on weekends because these activities do not necessitate closing the roads. Signs indicating detour routes will be posted at exits while they’re closed for resurfacing.
